Poem 128 - Chicken Pox

Mr. Smith ate fried sausages on a hot evening
But soon he fell sick, poor old thing
And guess what? He got chicken pox
In a few minutes he was on the bed, on his leg there were socks

Mr. Smith crept out of bed, looked in the mirror, saw pox on his face
He heard his wife coming, jumped on the bed with some great pace
His wife put a thermometer in his mouth, Mr. Smith chewed it
His wife saw him chewing and was in a big fit

He thought he could cure himself by covering the pox with white paint
When his wife saw him she did faint
Oh! Really Mr. Smith why are you such a silly man
In fact when he recovered his wife was after him with a saucepan

One morning Mr. Smith was so hungry he ate pepper and salt
His wife saw it and immediately to it she put a halt
Oh! Mr. Smith funniest of the funny
And that day he thought that a ball of cotton was a bunny
