Poem 289 - Expectations - Safer Home

I live in garbage
Dirty water actually
This isn't living

Man pollutes my home
Expecting a safer home;
In the other world

Poem 286 - The Best Gift

Image link here

What a gift I have
In my wonderful sister
The most precious gift

Teases me a lot
But of course loves me much more
Invaluable

Helpful, loving, cool
I'm lucky to be gifted
A brilliant sister

Poem 283 - Lightning

Image link here

The white bolt of Zeus
The only thing I'm scared of
In these stormy nights

Smell of excitement
Or wait! Is it of some sparks?
More like burnt rubber

Please don't frighten me
Only rain from my window
For once I'll enjoy

Costumes, balloons, rides
Because it's a carnival
Lets have some good fun

A ride so scary
Like at the top of the world
My heart skipped a beat

So many dances
Each different from the other
Different cultures seen

I can smell something
It's excitement in the air

Poem 278 - River

Image link here

Sliding and shining
Tirelessly, river flows
Splashing on its banks

Happily it sings
To the fish in its deep depths
A slow bubbling song

It babbles non-stop
To itself, more than to fish
Under mortal's boats

Poem 277 - Superstitions

Image link here

A mirror shatters
The family starts praying
Seven years bad luck?

Image link here

A black cat passes
Oh! He seems to be cursing
This ill omen

Image link here

She sneezes once
And in fear she waits, as
No second sneeze

Image link here

Thirteen floor building
Sudden fire on thirteenth
Quite mysterious

Image link here

A dog starts howling
His master feels afraid
Owners time to die?

Poem 273 - Bones Of The Past

Image from link below

Some bones of the past
Prove a lions existence
A chill through my spine

Middle of forest
Now I think; could it be,
Some cannibals?

Nature's man-eaters
A bigger chill, through my spine
I fled from the place
~Gaurang Rao

Poem 272 - Bowls Of Happiness

Image link here

Aroma of food
Something's always happening
In the kitchen

My tummy growls
Smell of food, teasing my nose
Oh, mom! Make it fast

Bowls of happiness
I see on the table
Yes! Food is ready

Poem 271 - Decision

Image link here

First day in Dubai
I had gone to the market
To buy bread and jam

While coming back home
I seemed to have lost my way
Is it left or right?

God's made a large world
Where in the world was I?
Lost in a maze
~Gaurang Rao

Whiter than the clouds
Looks like it's covered in snow
The small little dove

Such a nice colour
I wish my teeth were so white

His beard now white as their wool
