Poem 274 - Everyday Traditions

A sign of respect
Touching the feet of elders
Also getting blessed

She wakes up early
Picks flowers; goes to temple
Offers her prayers

To remove his evil
He takes a dip in Ganga
Clears his soul from sins

Ganga or Ganges is one of the longest Indian rivers. People who take a dip in it are believed to be cleared from their sins.
