Poem 129 - Mona Lisa

Her face, was looking really so true
A face that looked pretty, a face that looked fresh and new
Mona Lisa - her smile charmed everyone
Because of her face, everyone's hearts she won

Though only a painting, there seemed to be silent life in the art
The painter (in the painting) seemed to have put his full heart
Oh! A terrific painting, with beautiful things
Priceless - maybe worth infinite shillings

Poem 128 - Chicken Pox

Mr. Smith ate fried sausages on a hot evening
But soon he fell sick, poor old thing
And guess what? He got chicken pox
In a few minutes he was on the bed, on his leg there were socks

Mr. Smith crept out of bed, looked in the mirror, saw pox on his face
He heard his wife coming, jumped on the bed with some great pace
His wife put a thermometer in his mouth, Mr. Smith chewed it
His wife saw him chewing and was in a big fit

He thought he could cure himself by covering the pox with white paint
When his wife saw him she did faint
Oh! Really Mr. Smith why are you such a silly man
In fact when he recovered his wife was after him with a saucepan

One morning Mr. Smith was so hungry he ate pepper and salt
His wife saw it and immediately to it she put a halt
Oh! Mr. Smith funniest of the funny
And that day he thought that a ball of cotton was a bunny

Poem 127 - A Cricket Match

An exciting semi-final there was today
The match was good, but the Indians had it their way
The spectators cheered loudly for each four and six
The batsman felt proud, the bowlers in a fix

The fielding - good, the persuasive voice of the captain
To bowl well he would encourage his men
Suddenly a six, followed by an out
From the spectators, there will be many a shout

The achievement for India, was better than being rich
My Oh My! They bowled great on the pitch
The Batting too went quite well
But I agree the arch-rivals put up a good spell

Poem 126 - A Sailor

The Ship was going on its way to Morocco
But what happened to the ship nobody did know
It seemed to have overturned - some people said
Some told that the sailors were safe, others told they were dead

But one day returned a weary old sailor, from the ship
Wow! So did all of the sailors complete the trip?
We decided to ask, but he was too weak
And neither could he stand nor could he speak

He was put on a small bed in a hut
On his forehead - the sailor had a small cut
Over it we put some bandage, and fed him well
So after some days his story he did tell

When he recovered, he told that "Nearby the ship had crashed
And every thing got badly smashed"
He told all sailors died, but he managed to swim to land
And that was why he was exhausted and he couldn't speak or stand

So the sailors or the ship, never reached Morocco
In fact, not much far could the ship go
And Nearly the last sailor had died, but he managed to swim
And so here we managed to save him

Poem 125 - To My Grandfather

This is dedicated to my grandfather

You are such a wonderful person
A person that is full of kindness and unlimited fun
It is always fun to be with you
You are a person like very few

For all of us your love you do share
For each person you still do care
You've played with me when I was a small kid
For me, so many things you did

With you so much fun I had
You are full of good, not a bit of bad
In the world you are one of the best men
And I will give you a hundred out of ten

Poem 124 - Jelly Party!

I was having tea at the table, heard the gates open and close
It just sent a shiver from my back to my toes
The bell rang, I carefully opened the door
It was just my relatives, how exciting now there was no bore

Guess what they had brought some jolly good Jelly
Oh! It had such a good smell, now I can't call it smelly
Just fine for a jolly good Tea
For the excellent tea they joined me

It was fun, and the Jelly was tasty
And to think you got it all for free
Oh! How jolly good is that? Isn't it
Oh! I wish I could just give you a small Jelly bit

Poem 123 - A Sword Fight

Me and Jack were having a dual fight with swords
We were standing inside a platform, fenced with boards
The fight began, swords clashed, we held tight
Suddenly both fell back, but we continued the fight

His sword was pointed, towards my throat
But I managed to kick it, but it ripped my coat
Jack's muscles bulged, his tattoo was now seen
And I can tell you, the way he made his face it looked very mean

In a minute our Identical swords were again fighting
I had to quickly block because he gave a sudden swing
Outside the fence, I heard my dog give a volley of barks
But that could not stop us, again there were many flying sparks

Finally exhausted, we decided there was no winner
But I am sure both of us kept thinking that the other guy was the loser
I picked my dog, and went with my half torn coat
Though the fight was over, through my mind the incident did float.
