Poem 136 - Two days away!

Two days more, and my first blog anniversary
Will these two days go slow? Or will they go in a hurry?
Writing poetry, became of of my favorite things
Time just flew by, like time had wings

In a year so much poetry I wrote
Time just flew by, like I was on a motorboat
I will never stop, I shall continue to write
I thank all of you for bringing my blog to this height

Things went so fast, and it will go fast again
Time will fly by, like a bullet train
Time will fly by, like it is in a race
Time will fly by, it will go at a great pace

Poem 135 - As I Entered The Kitchen

An aroma goes through my nostrils, as I open the kitchen door
Spicy and sweet items being cooked, at least cooking is not at all a bore
My mother in her apron cooking, I did, that was when I first did cook
My mother tells me what to do, as I take another apron off the hook

A beautiful new dish is invented, it looks like a beautiful design
If I owned a restaurant, I am very sure I would never resign
I felt like I was dreaming a dream, was my cooking really true?
If I own a restaurant I will invent a dish, that is tasty and new

Poem 134 - The road to heaven?

On the road, silent footsteps, walking on mud-dirtying my shoes
Shoelaces covered with mud, tied very loose
Silence creeps around me everywhere
The smell of rain fills the dark evening air

Seems to be a never ending road, walk doesn't end
To this road no bird, no person, no life seems to attend
No life on the road, a fear... is this road fully dead?
I felt dizzy, I felt scared, I clutched my head

Where was this road going to lead me...lead me to god's own place?
A spot of light - to there I did race
I ran there saw god formed in the now sudden clouds, he lifted me
Finally, in heaven? Yes it is god's kingdom that I did see

Poem 133 - Mischievous Monkey

Mischievous Monkeys - Maddening Mrs. Maryanne
Mocking Mrs. Maryanne by taking her mighty, metal, man made pan
Mrs. Maryanne threw bananas in a lake
But mischievous monkeys came back, for more bananas they wanted to take

Poem 132 - The single cup

A Large box, containing nine cups made of glass
All nine sitting on the table, being used each time a person did pass
Either filled with juice, cocktail or wine
All were used, all of the nine

Suddenly, a man drunk dropped all cups, except the one in his hand
Broken glass pieces and juice and wine was all over the land
The single cup containing a drink
Now standing on the table the glass did think

Should he be happy to be saved? Or sad to have lost some friends?
But there it stood, thinking of his luck and his friends ends
The only cup stood there, now not being used at all
Stood there alone, stood there on the table looking tall

Poem 131 - Facing the waves

A girl woke up, saw she was on a boat, on sea
Around her strong waves she could see
She sat shocked, where was her mother?
Oh! Now it was high tide - oh bother!

On the raft, she saw two oars, used them to move the boat
She felt cold, but all she had was her mother's old coat
She wondered how she had reached here, on water
Was the mother ever going to find her daughter?

She kept rowing, though hands itching with pain
There was nothing she could do, she cried in vain
She sat down, then got up to face the many a strong wave
She suddenly picked up courage, she became more brave

She moved the boat, just in one direction
But the way it looked, she wasn't having fun
She rowed on, not stopping for a break
She just rowed and rowed, though her hands did ache

She saw some land in the distance, she started rowing to there
But what happened to her was worse than the worst nightmare
Her boat hit a rock, she fell in the sea, she drowned
Suddenly it was just silence - No sound

Was it her mother who kept her in the boat, who didn't want her kid?
Even if it was her, what a bad thing she did
Parents maybe were poor, so left the child
Was it love, or was it hatred?

Poem 130 - An Ancient Town

An ancient town, it was peaceful and green
A city that was bright, a city that was clean
It was one earliest civilizations , - the city
But when it got destroyed it was a pity

People used to live happily, enjoying life's every moment
That time, as communication, only letters were sent
Pigeons and Owls used to be messengers
That time carts could carry only rich passengers

Rich lived in houses made of cement and bricks
Poor lived in thatched houses made of mud and sticks
But in the city, cleanliness was always maintained
No thefts were there, so people prospered and money they gained

But scientists, till now don't know how the city died
Was it an epidemic, earthquaked or a landslide?
Till now it is a mystery, - the death of the city
Was it just a sudden, strange calamity?
