Happily she dreamed
Nestled in her mother's lap
Last time probably
How was she to know?
That she would be abandoned
By her poor parents
Poor little baby
Her dreams would be shattered; like
the snap of a twig
She starts crying as,
Her mother leaves her; on the
doorstep of a house
Watery visions
As she cries her heart out
Save the girl child please

ReplyDeleteSad and very powerful! I really liked it. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrible and heartbreaking decision for parents to leave a child to its fate with others rather than poverty and misery with them. Yet it still goes on.
ReplyDeleteYour concern is genuine and this is coming straight from your heart!! Great message at the end!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nanka!
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure :)
ReplyDeleteI know...poverty the cause of trouble!
ReplyDeleteThis is too sad, and more so because it does happen. Well done.
