Poem 184 - Christmas is around the corner

Am I dreaming a fairy tale or is this true
December has come, and Christmas is near too
Waiting for Santa Claus to give us presents
Almost forgetting it is given by our parents

Eating sweets and of course singing songs
Feeling like it's a new year and correcting all your wrongs
Oh! How we wait for Christmas to come
The month of December can never be glum

I look at the Christmas tree
There it is standing, decorated and happy
Waiting to be crowded by gifts in a few days
There in the dining room the Christmas tree lays

Christmas, Christmas I can't wait anymore
In fact I am expecting Santa Claus to knock on the door
Christmas, Christmas you are just a week away
But still I miss you every single day

  2. You do seem speak of it from a child's point of view. Or maybe you do still really love it. Anyway it speaks fondly of the day and I hope you enjoy yours:)

  3. You make me want to become a child again and remind me how great the anticipation of Santa Claus coming can be. It is so sad that some people try so hard to spoil the joy of Santa Claus for the children. I think it is one of the great joys of childhood and if you ask most adults they can tell you about when they learned that Santa was not real. When a child asks me if Santa is real, I always tell them that as long as you believe in Santa he is real and he will bring you presents, but once you stop beleiving then he cannot bring you presents anymore. Funny how this seems to satisfy them and keeps the joy of Santa in their lives for a few more years. Bringing happiness to children is one of the most wonderful things anyone can do. Your poem qualifies. Thanks for sharing it with us.

And thanks again for playing in this weeks Theme Thursday, it was a sweet poem for us. See you next week.
