Poem 280 - Escapist

Image from Magpie Tales

To escape from this world, he looks in his map
He can't go somewhere far, has to be close
He sat under a tree, removed his cap
In confusion, he knitted his eyebrows
On leave he was, all alone, but glad
Job too tiring, now he needed a break
All office tension used to make him mad
Time off - dream from which he didn't want to wake
So there he was, at his map - staring
Confusion of where to go, but still happy
Some hiking clothes and shoes he was wearing
For the first time, he himself felt so free
Oh! Escapist enjoy your holidays
You can't escape for long now, anyways

Poem 251 - Supermoon Night

Her torch seems to burn like the sun all night
Oh! Its the moon glowing in the night sky
Those two lights, ah! Such a wonderful sight
But the moon is faint, why is it so shy?
Plane passes, what luck for people on it
First class seats and such a beautiful view
Staring at the moon, on a bench I sit
It's  so exciting to see something new
At the colours in the night sky I stare
Couldn't get more better, as a breeze blows
Enjoy this beautiful time, it's so rare
Through my whole body, happiness flows
Such a good end to an exciting day
Please let times like this come always I pray

Poem 219 - The Light Bulb

The poor light bulb, it burns itself all night
It's a watchman while others are asleep
Selflessly, to all, it does provide light
And it's then turned on when darkness does sweep
Used just at night, it hardly gets looked at
Just to make life easy, it's one more tool
Hardworking it is, but people don't know that
To not think about it makes man a fool
Each moment of darkness is swept by light
And then even in the most poor town
It makes everyone's life look so bright
And when not needed, we just turn it down
At the darkest times it lights every place
But we don't notice, because life's a race

Poem 210 - A Circus Day

For the circus show, a ticket I bought
Reviews were that it was very good
And so for this ticket I spent a lot
Looking for the tent entrance, there I stood

The show was good, elephants played cricket
From tightrope walkers to lions and clowns
The screams would have brought the tent down, I bet
This was the place of faces without frowns

The show was enjoyed thoroughly
And after the show, I even went back stage
I met the clowns who spoke to me freely
I saw the lions, back in their cage

Sadly good times have to come to an end
At the circus, a great time I did spend

Poem 196 - Rains

I jump in puddles and dance in the rain
The heavens have opened so lets have fun
The water has started to flood this lane
Hiding behind the gray clouds is the sun
I am soaked wet but it's still fun to play
Yet, I love the rain, so I hope it does stay
The farmers for this rain they must have prayed
Their plants might have died in the summer heat
But the potters might be cursing this rain
Because they work hard to make their ends meet
Pots won't dry, so the farmers are now in vain
But I love the rain as it's fun for me
I feel so happy and I feel so free

Poem 190 - Road Of Life

Walking in the woods, humming a soft song
My jacket is hung over my shoulder
Spring has come, now nothing can go wrong
Nature is blooming, but growing older
Birds chirping, Bees humming, Flowers blooming
I love this season everything feels right
The good is here and evil is dooming
I stop for a moment my mind feels light
It's a beautiful place, peaceful and nice
Spots of light passed through gaps in leaves on trees
To make all this God must be kind and wise
I felt really fresh as there blew a breeze
I wish life was like this, this beautiful way
I hope it goes on like this everyday

Poem 162 - The Masked Secrets

Mask on the wall, looking straight at my eye
Artistic colors, a nice black and white
So creepy, who knows what those eyes lie
Keep distance from those eyes, they glows at night
Ever glowing eyes, with its evil look
Death scaring lips, which carry a wild smile
Slightly white crooked nose, my head I shook
Eek! Is it fake, or a mask that is fragile
Colored spots on the face, they're black and good
Read its unseen mind, what is it thinking?
Evil face it has, does not even eat food
Throw it away, for it is disturbing
Scary mask now gone, its in the garbage
Now I confess I threw it in a rage

Poem 156 - A Photo

Just that one photo of hers made him cry
He loved her so much and now she had died
Alone and sad, now he wanted to die
Each time he looked at the photo he cried
Leaning on the door thinking of his love,
About his dead wife he kept thinking of
He felt like the only man alone now
He sat on his bed and gave a sad cough
Broke the photo, tried not to think of her
But only her nice face came to his mind
He closed his eyes, shed another tear
The past, good memories he did rewind
Once again to his mind came the photo
To heaven he also wanted to go

Poem 113 - Strawberries

A little girl picks up some strawberries
She keeps them in her strong basket of wood
She walks away, her grandmother's house she sees
She keeps them on handle of door, does good

Her grandmother wakes up sees the nice gift
Her granddaughter has given it she sees
The ripe strawberries slowly she does lift
She sees her granddaughter among the trees

She calls her granddaughter hugs her in air
"Oh! For me my kind child, how much you care?"
